Shot Reverse Shot... Used for diologue focus on or character talking. Position camera over the shoulder, makes you feel part of the conversation.

High angle shots- cannotes power of the object you are veiwing. Women have traditionaly been shot in this way yo make men look more powerful, making them look infirior.

Low angle shots- this is used to make a character look (appear) stronger.

Tracking shots- camera perpendicular to the action and follows the subject or action.

Panning shot- Swivels 180 degrees.

Editing
The Basics
Continuity- the veiwer should not notice the cuts, and shots should follow, and floe together naturaly hence the sequence of shots should appear to be continous.
(HollyWood Editing)
Montage-Soviet
This style of editing has two functions. The highly political soievent style of the 1920's which sort to create a new meaning out of seeming unconnected shots. The audience are very awear of the cuts. 'Sergi Eisentiein'
Montage-Hollywood
in classical hollywood cinima a 'montage sequence' is a short segment in a film in which narrative infomation is presented in condenced fashion.
-when director condences lots of infor into a breif sentence. Eg someone trying on various outfits before a night out.
Transitions- a transistion is a term for how a editor moves form one shot to another. The use of innapropriate transitions can destroy the mood or pace of a scene.
Cross cutting/ Parralel editing- Editing that altinates shots of two or more lines of action occuring in different places, usualy simmultaniously.
Dissolve- A transition between two shots during which the 1st image gradually dissapears while the 2nd image gradually appears.

Our Video

As part of our piliminary exercise, we had to create a short film, including 15-18 differnt camera angles in the footage. Then we had to include short reverse shot, and some diologue between two people. I worked in a group with Hannah, Jack, Olivia, Vicky and Lauren. i belived we worked well as a group all the way through the ideas prosess the filming and the editing. We drew a story board of what we wanted out film to be like. We chose the film to be baced in the libary anf the conversation to be between Jack the person walking and Olivia our librarian. We used 18 differnt shots in our film which was the maxim we were aloud. After all the filming was done we uploaded iot onto the mac's and edited our clips on there to make it smooth and free flowing. If we had to do this again we would make sure that we would use the camera stand so our shots wernt so wobbley and the camera we used was more focused.
